About Us

ABOUT THE GENERAL HAVELOCK

Built in the Thirties. The General Havelock is a large refurbished public house with a wide range of real ales on offer.

Inside it’s roomy, light and airy and it’s fixtures and fittings dominated by a fabulous Art Deco floor. The main bar is dotted with framed prints and the pub has an open fire in winter.

The lounge at the back keeps it simple; no television, no fruit machines, no piped music. The cellar bar is sometimes open at weekends and serves ale straight from the barrel.

Testimonials

Started upstairs in the bar, nice beer and a camra discount. Then invited to try the new cellar bar. Excellent little place but as the old cellar it is cool so be warned. Good selection of beers and ciders. Recommended.

Very pleasantly surprised. Well kept and cheerful staff. We had a set buffet which was excellent and the menu, described as rotisserie/cafe, look very good too. This had been recommended to the family and we were certainly very impressed. We will go there again.
